The string-based band Barrage 8 will perform Friday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Hart Auditorium at Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg.

Patterned after the former band Barrage, this new, high-energy fiddling group performs a wide variety of musical styles from 70s rock, jazz, classical, blues and Barrage originals.

The show will incorporate Barrage's trademark style, energy and high production values into a masterful re-imagining of the string octet that features violins, viola, cello, bass and a percussionist. While there are plenty of ensemble numbers, Barrage 8 also features the performers as soloists, in trios and other engaging collaborations.

The elaborately choreographed show includes whirling dancing set to infectious rhythms that energize audiences from start to finish.

Tickets for the Center Stage performance are $12 for the general public and $6 for BYU-Idaho students. Tickets can be purchased at the BYU-Idaho Ticket Office, by calling 496-3170 or online at tickets.byui.edu.
