Students showcase engineering skills

Students in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Brigham Young University-Idaho will showcase their final projects Wednesday, July 21, from 2-5 p.m., in the Austin Building lobby. This semester's projects are:

 

ME 380 (Product Development Course)
• A home garden seeding device
• A multiple-use backpack frame
• A basketball return system for shooting practice
• An electric/manual water pump for Haiti
• A portable camp table
• A trailer ramp for low-clearance mowers

 

ME 470 (Mechatronics Course)
• An automated bat room for the Haunted Mill
• A self-balancing quad copter
• An autonomous multi-dose device for EMTs

 

ME 480 (Senior Capstone Course)
• A positioning system for material testing
• A fluid power training system
• A bow positioning system



ME 490 (Special Problems Course)
• A bio-diesel motor system for powering a trebuchet
