Brigham Young University-Idaho will host a special Communication Day on Friday, June 22, in conjunction with a reunion of newspaper and student media alumni.
The Scroll reunion will last through Saturday and will include an open house in the Jacob Spori Building Friday evening and a banquet Saturday in the Hyrum Manwaring Center. Comm Day, which kicks off Friday at 8 a.m. in the John Taylor Building, will feature a close-up look at new and social media.
Six professionals will present in breakout sessions starting at 9:30, 10:30, and 11:30 a.m. A keynote address, offered by Jake Black and John Dye of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' new social media entities, will be at 2 p.m. in the Taylor Chapel.
"This is a great opportunity to listen to accomplished professionals, see new directions in the Communication industries as well as network with past students," said Lee Warnick, faculty member in the Department of Communication.
