The Brigham Young University-Idaho College of Business and Communication will be hosting its Newel K. Whitney Summit June 16. Professionals from around the country have been invited to come speak to BYU-Idaho students about their experiences and offer them advice about their future careers.
Robert Whitman, chairman of the board of directors and CEO of Franklin Covey, will be giving the keynote address in the Taylor Chapel at 2 p.m., which will be followed by a question and answer session. Whitman was also the former president and Co-CEO of Hampstead Group, LLC.
"This is a great opportunity for students to rub shoulders and ask questions with successful people in their field of study. The summit provides an invaluable chance for students to learn about the corporate world and to network with professionals," said Robyn Bergstrom, dean of the College of Business and Communication.
Whitman will be joined by Dirk Gates, CEO at Xirrus and founder and former president of Xircom, Inc.; Kate Jones and Sarah Wells, food bloggers and authors of Our Best Bites: Mormon Moms in the Kitchen; and Gary Lewis, Producer/Event Coordinator whose clients include NBC Sports and DreamWorks Animation.
