Brigham Young University-Idaho is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Zollinger as the new director of Internship & Career Services, effective immediately. He replaces Guy Hollingsworth, who began serving as an associate academic vice president in April.
"I'm excited for the opportunity," Zollinger said. "I sincerely feel we have a great staff, and I want to continue to do all we possibly can to serve the students-most importantly by emphasizing quality internships, which will enable students to make good decisions about their careers."
Though newly appointed to this position officially, Brother Zollinger had been filling this role for the past 14 months while Guy Hollingsworth was on active duty in Iraq. Brother Zollinger has also worked for the past five years as an internship coordinator for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, where his main responsibilities included advising and counseling students regarding internship opportunities, as well as coordinating internship expeditions to major U.S. cities each semester. His responsibilities will now include overseeing the five internship coordinators as well as a set of full-time service missionaries.
"We are very grateful to Guy Hollingsworth and his team for the excellent foundation they have laid. Steve has served with distinction during Guy's absence, and we're confident that the quality of our Internship & Career Services will continue to grow under Steve's leadership," said Henry Eyring, vice president of Advancement.
