Crossing street dance with classically choreographed movement, Soul Street Dance Company from Houston, Texas, will perform at the Kirkham Auditorium at Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg for performances on Friday and Saturday, April 24 and 25, at 7:30 p.m.
Sponsored by the BYU-Idaho Center Stage Performing Arts Series, this innovative dance group of four men will appeal to audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Tickets can be obtained from the BYU-Idaho Ticket Office by calling 496-2230 or online at www.byui.edu/tickets. The cost is $12 for the general public and $5 for BYU-Idaho students.
Soul Street Dance features a variety of dance styles and selections including a mix of hip-hop, classical and new dance styles with urban-fashioned costumes and comic delivery. The musical selections include Leonard Bernstein, Earth Wind & Fire, Debussy, Kodo Drummers, Michael Jackson, Nat King Cole, Vivaldi, James Brown and others.
