Dr. Philip A. Allred received his B.A. from Brigham Young University in Political Science, an M.A. in Theology from the University of Notre Dame, and a doctorate’s degree from Idaho State University in Political Science.
Allred has taught in the Seminary and Institute programs for eight years and has been a professor of religion at BYU-Idaho for 13 years. He also chaired the development team of the Family Foundations (FDREL 200) course at BYU-Idaho and has published articles on a variety of gospel topics.
Allred is married to Jennifer Lindeman from Rochester, New York. They have two sons and one daughter.
Born in Ankara, Turkey, Allred was raised in southeastern Idaho. He served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Osaka, Japan. Allred has been privileged to study all over Europe, including the Mediterranean, as well as parts of the Middle East while directing students in Religious History academic travel. He is a self-described “foody” and loves to eat a wide variety of cuisines. He is currently serving in the Rexburg Young Single Adult 5th Stake Presidency.
