Biography

Stephenson is an ACE & AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor; AFAA Personal Trainer, AEA Certified Aqua Instructor, Rep Reebok Strength Certified and is Licensed in all Zumba formats. She received her Associates Degree from Ricks College.

Stephenson has twenty-five years experience teaching group fitness at various gyms, privately and for BYU-I Continuing Education. She has taught kickboxing, step, aerobics, Zumba, interval training, strength training and boot camp formats.

She is currently teaching Zumba and TRX Suspension training at SuperFly Fitness in Idaho Falls. She has also organized and conducted a weight loss group for the local school districts employee wellness program.

Stephenson has been married for thirty-one years to a Humanities Professor. They have four children and one grandchild all of whom are beloved.

Stephenson has always struggled with her weight which is why she became so interested in exercise and nutrition. Her weight has yo-yoed throughout her life and her heaviest weight was 257 lbs. Her students know that she understands their struggles. Her favorite things to do are: Zumba plus strength training, as well as indulging Florence’s Chocolate. She has been blessed to serve in many callings including Young Women Leader and Counselor, Stake Camp Director, Primary President and Relief Society President.

Class Outline

A strength-training regime that will increase muscular endurance and muscle strength through a variety of methods meant to constantly challenge the body.

Rep Reebok, which is a formatted strength, endurance, and power class developed by Reebok University emphasizing the eccentric contraction with short muscle recovery periods. All fitness levels can be accommodated. Beginners use lighter or no weight and seasoned exercisers can choose poundage according to their fitness level.
