Stephanie Fay grew up in Twin Falls, Idaho, and received her associate’s degree in 1993 at Ricks College in Humanities. She then attended Brigham Young University in Provo and received her Bachelor’s in Science degree with an emphasis in Geography in 1995. Stephanie has been licensed to teach Zumba, Zumba Toning, and ZumbAtomic (for kids) since March 2010 and has recently certified to teach Zumba Core. She is certified by the Aerobics Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and has loved being a fitness instructor.

While at Ricks and BYU, Fay took several of the ballroom dance classes and received honored scores in her “Gold” testing. She was on several ballroom dance teams and traveled with the Ricks College Extravadance to Japan in 1993. Growing up, Stephanie took tap and jazz dance classes for seven years. Through the AFAA program, she studied how the body works and the proper ways to teach a fitness class in a large group setting.

Stephanie has been married to Derek Fay for 17 years and has four children. They enjoy hiking, camping, and being outdoors. They started their family in Utah and eight years later moved to Rexburg where they have lived for the past nine years. “We love our community and involvement with BYU-Idaho,” said Stephanie. She loves to dance, sing, quilt, and any other sewing projects. She loves to snow, water and cross-country ski, hike, and be pampered. She has been a Young Women teacher, advisor, and president. She is currently serving as the Relief Society second counselor in her home ward.

Class Outline

Start your day with an amazing cardio fitness class to get your heart pumping and your feet stomping!  You will exercise from the latest hits to some golden oldies as well as music from other countries and rhythms.

Learning Objectives:
During our time together, we will work our legs, arms, and core in a fun and innovative way to various music and rhythms.  This is a class that can be enjoyed by anyone over 12 years old.  Wear some supportive shoes, modest work-out clothes, and bring a water bottle for 45 minutes of fun!
