|Friday, August 2||2 p.m.||Taylor 120|
Steve Davis has been employed at BYU-Idaho for the past 26 years and currently serves as the director of BYU-Idaho Alumni Relations. He is the founder and manager of the Official BYU-Idaho Student and Alumni Network on LinkedIn.
Davis has a master’s degree in corporate training and gives dozens of workshops each year on effective networking and one-on-one coaching on how to use LinkedIn and other networking resources. Davis also teaches the BYU-Idaho course Principles of Personal Achievement.
He and his wife Cynthia are the parents of six children and have two grandchildren.
LinkedIn is one of the most effective tools you can use for networking. This workshop will show you how to: (1) prepare to be found with an effective and compelling LinkedIn profile, (2) find connections that will help in either your job search or recruiting new talent using LinkedIn's advanced search and the new alumni portal, and (3) foster meaningful relationships that will enhance your professional opportunities. This workshop will benefit those who are already on LinkedIn or those who are curious about the value of this global networking resource. There will also be a brief introduction to the other networking resources provided by the Church and CES.
